the guardian, michael longley and candide jones

i'm biased. i love the guardian. having studied abroad in london during the fall semester, i came to interpret everything the guardian publishes as the gospel truth.

so naturally, when the guardian publishes a review of michael longley's "a hundred doors," i think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

to be fair, i decided to go to candide. she knows the critical world of poetry like the back of her hand, so i knew she'd give a fair take on the review.

the result? she said it is one of the best reviews she's read in a long time (that wasn't even supposed to be a pun). weaving emotion and reflection, sean o'brien perfectly encapsulates (and praises) "a hundred doors."

read the review!

and be sure to check out michael longley's "a hundred doors!"
